A view from the west shore of Foster Lake shows its general size and shape.

This picture shows the dock, lifeguards lookout, and floating dock. During the summer of 2004 improvements were made on this area. A sandy beach and roped off swimming area are now located next to the dock. A 1.5 mile trail also winds around through the woods bordering Foster Lake.

Canoes from the Environmental Studies Department, Foster Lake Club, and Alfred University Forest People are used on the water.

The lush forests surrounding foster lake have been used by Environmental Studies students working on plant identification, soil characterization, and forest transects.
